Priority Areas

URBSEC research seeks synergy and added value through catalytic processes where university researchers are joined by professionals from private enterprise as well as from the public and voluntary sectors.

This format where academy meets practitioners is the basis for innovations that integrate utility of technological kind as well as in terms of increased capacities both of organizations and of individuals to understand and manage risk and recovery issues. Working in close collaboration within URBSEC-organized research teams, the joint efforts are expected to produce results of higher scientific quality, of added value for both society and business.

Overlap between prioritized research areas is seen as a source of creative possibility since URBSEC aims to achieve knowledge of higher quality and relevance through flows of theory, methods, ideas, and experiences. The four Priority Areas are:
