The 2016 URBSEC Conference in Collaboration with the Society for Risk Analysis

The 2016 URBSEC Conference will take place in connection with the Society for Risk Analysis (SRA) Europe 2nd Nordic Chapter Meeting in Gothenburg, 14-15 November, 2016. The location of the conference will be Clarion Hotel Post in the city center of Gothenburg. The hotel is conveniently located at the Drottningtorget square, in direct vicinity to the Central Station, with immediate access to long distance trains and airport coaches.

The 2016 URBSEC Conference will be arranged in direct conjunction with the SRA Europe Nordic Chapter Meeting. The conference is planned to start at 13:00, Tuesday Nov. 15, and will include panels with researchers and external partners about ongoing projects, a presentation by the Swedish Civil Contingency Agency (MSB) on relations to Swedish research milieus, and a roundtable about a planned new URBSEC Priority Area on smart cities in relation to safety and security issues. There will also be a joint dinner starting at 17:30. Members of the URBSEC network are also encouraged to register for the SRA Europe Nordic Chapter Meeting, and are also welcome to submit paper proposals for the SRA Meeting - see below for details.

The SRA Europe Nordic Chapter Meeting will start Monday Nov. 14 and close with a lunch Tuesday Nov. 15. The SRA Meeting invites papers on a wide range of risk-related issues: risk communication and uncertainty; environmental governance; new technologies and innovation; risk framing; evidence-based policy making; new perspectives on risk assessment; risk and ethics; organizing in the face of risk; emerging risk issues in the Nordic and Baltic countries.

Researchers interested in the SRA Meeting are invited to submit abstracts of paper proposals for review up until Monday August 29. For more information, consult the SRA Meeting Webpage or URBSEC Priority Area Leader Åsa Boholm.
